Death to Common Libs
Sometimes you code can get a little too DRY
Stop trying to make flutter happen
We said no to GWT as well. Android is forever!!
#GoogleIO2023
As the second part they showed #Flutter but the audience was really quite π
And it was there only for 5 minutes, nothing more. They changed directly to #Web π
#Kotlin and #WASM were also introduced but nobody clapped π€£
OK, Google, no really strategy here π€·π»ββοΈ

Deep Deps
Explore your dependency tree with IntelliJ tooling
"Let's look at analyzing dependencies in @intellijidea. Where does your application get a specific version of a library, show conflicts, etc." @MaritvanDijk77 tells you all about it, including super handy shortcuts, check it out on Foojay! foojay.io/today/analyzinβ¦#foojaytip

JBang in the Cloud
If you are unfamiliar with JBang, it is a tool set to allow you to quickly get up and running with Java examples. Great for teaching Java. Now It can be used to run quick aws lambdas
Nobody got time for dates
Always feeling sad πΌ vibes when seeing `java.util.Date` and friends in new #Java code. Unless it's about integrating legacy code which you can't modify, do yourself a favour and use the much more expressive temporal data types added in Java 8 almost ten years ago.
